Municipal and Industrial Wastewater

The Ydro Process® combines targeted microorganisms and site analytics to address many types of wastewater treatment challenges. When applied in wastewater collection systems, the Ydro Process® microorganisms enhance the biological treatment process and reduce organic loading to achieve a wide range of performance benefits.

OUR SOLUTIONS INCLUDE

Collection System

Collection System

The wastewater collection system contains the ideal conditions where facultative/aerobic conditions allow for the Ydro Process® microorganisms to degrade the organic loading in sewers, which in turn minimizes H2S, FOG and associated nuisances.

In municipal and industrial wastewater collection systems, the use of Ydro Process® microorganisms prevents the formation of Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) and Sulphuric Acid (H2SO4) due to the presence of sulphur-utilizing bacteria present in the microorganisms. This reduces problematic odors, corrosion and safety hazards for treatment operators.

As the microbes degrade organic waste, they also prevent the buildup of Fats, Oils, and Grease (FOG), which can eliminate the need for expensive cleaning or infrastructure solutions in the pipe network or lift stations.

By leveraging the benefits provided through the integration of the Ydro Process® in the wastewater collection system, municipalities can enhance the treatment process while minimizing the negative by-products inherent in the conveyance and treatment of wastewater.

Applying the Ydro Process® to Achieve Wastewater Treatment Optimization

When applied in the collection system, the Ydro Process® uses an analytics-based approach to enhance the rate and efficiency of organics degradation and biological nutrient removal. It is a cost-effective and low-risk way to optimize municipal and industrial wastewater treatment systems without any major capital expenditure.

Depending on specific treatment objectives, each solution is tailored using the optimal application of pre-formulated microbes. The Ydro Process® microorganisms enable the continuous adaptation of the selected microbial population to plant conditions and parameters according to the targets. The application of these microorganisms in the collection system can enhance treatment plant performance and processing control.

PRIME SCREEN

PRIME SCREEN

The PRIME SCREEN™ system combines a proprietary fine screen at the headworks with the addition of specialized Ydro Process® microorganisms in a wastewater collection system. The PRIME SCREEN™ is applicable for any type of wastewater treatment system, especially those lacking primary treatment, membrane-based treatment plants, lagoon systems, and those seeking alternatives to expansions or upgrades.

The microbial product degrades FOG and prevents the formation of Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) and Sulphuric Acid (H2SO4) to minimize odors and corrosion throughout the collection system. The addition microbes reduces the influent organic load by >25%, creating a synergistic effect with the PRIME SCREEN™ to further reduce organic loading to the treatment system by >25% due to the unique design of the screen.

The reduction in organic loading also results in significantly lower energy consumption in the aeration stage and reduces the sludge produced. This novel screening solution can help systems achieve equal or better influent quality than traditional primary clarification, while increasing the efficiency of downstream treatment processes. These benefits can result in significant operations and maintenance costs savings.

In the collection system, the microbial product degrades fats, oils and grease (FOG) and prevents hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and sulfuric acid (H2SO4) formation, which minimizes odors, grease buildup, and corrosion in the collection system. This microbial pre-treatment is combined with the removal of inert material by the PRIME SCREEN™ to reduce organic loading by more than 25% and achieve equal or better effluent quality as primary clarification.

Lagoon Remediation

Lagoon Remediation

The Ydro Process® microorganisms can be applied in lagoon-based plants to revitalize aging systems and enhance treatment performance. Ydro Process® microorganisms leverage different metabolic pathways which increase the existing microbial community’s capacity to degrade organic material in lagoon-based systems. This can result in a number of benefits including fewer dredging requirements, reduced odors and increased system efficiency.

Additionally, the microorganisms optimize biological nutrient removal, allowing for greater reductions in total nitrogen and total phosphorus. The Sulphate Reducing Bacteria present in the Ydro Process® microorganisms also prevent the formation of Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) and Sulfuric Acid (H2SO4), which leads to reduced odors, corrosion and safety hazards associated with these compounds.

Septic Tanks System Installing

Septic Systems and Cesspool Treatment

Using easy-to-dose capsules, the Ydro Process® microorganisms improve degradation in septic systems and cesspools. The capsules are dosed in the toilet at night after the toilet has been used. The following morning, the toilet can be flushed normally.

The powerful microorganisms break down complex organic molecules, including fats, oils and grease (FOG) which can cause costly blockages. Odors are significantly reduced and improved drainage leads to fewer cleanouts.
