This year, TradeWorks presented at the 12th Annual International Conference on Environmental Engineering and Applications, hosted virtually July 28 -30. The ICEE provides a forum for researchers and practitioners in the field to share ideas, designs and experiments. Participants represent academia, industry and government sectors. Our presentation titled, Application of Bioaugmentation in the Collection System of a Municipal WWTP to Enhance BNR and Avoid Decommissioning of the Wastewater Treatment Plant, received the award for Best Presentation at the conference.
We were thrilled to have the opportunity to share this exciting project with our peers and prospective users of the Ydro Process® technology. In addition to achieving nutrient criteria compliance, results showed a 20-50% increase in biogas production, compared to the same months during the year prior to using the technology. Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG) degradation was also significantly enhanced at the local pump station due to the collection system dosing approach. Results demonstrated that plant decommissioning could be avoided by using the Ydro Process® while also realizing performance benefits from collection to solids handling. The technology is now integrated into standard operations at the plant where it continues to optimize the treatment process today.
